A Series of Whistles and Clicks

Even the ocean’s cutest can become its deadliest.

When chaos erupts along Florida’s Gulf Coast, it begins with a single scream beneath the waves. Soon, boats are being destroyed, fishermen go missing, and the quiet town of Blackfin Cove becomes the epicenter of a mystery no one can explain—or survive.

Gwen Curry, a small-town marina trainer, witnesses something she can’t forget.
Dr. Stephen Dreyfus, a marine mammalogist, uncovers evidence that defies science itself.
And Chief Petty Officer Elena Diaz of the Coast Guard is forced to face a killer unlike anything humanity has ever imagined.

As the town readies for its annual regatta, the sea begins to churn—and something intelligent, vengeful, and slightly addicted rises to the surface.

A Series of Whistles and Clicks breaks new water in the world of aquatic horror—a tense, atmospheric thriller that drags readers into the deep end of fear, where nature fights back and the line between beauty and brutality disappears beneath the waves.

Perfect for fans of JawsThe Meg, and The Deep, this haunting debut reminds us that some predators don’t need claws or teeth to kill—only the silence before a scream.

About the Author

Bradley Laborman is a filmmaker, comedian, and podcaster based in Texas.

He’s been creating content since the late 1990s—everything from theatre, music  and viral sketches to full-length feature projects. A Series of Whistles and Clicks marks his first dive into fiction, but definitely not his last.

Writing movies is one thing—but writing a book, as he puts it, “that’s a whole different kind of beast.”

Still, for a comedian like Laborman, balancing horror and humor comes naturally. After all, fear and laughter both rely on timing—one just involves more screaming.

When he’s not behind a camera or working on his next podcast episode, Bradley is developing his upcoming series Small Town Drama, set to begin filming in early spring 2026. Whether it’s on screen, on stage, or on the page, his goal remains the same—to entertain, surprise, and keep audiences guessing what he’ll do next.
